What is public

Everything added to the site is public. Songs and books, every saved version of them and the time each was saved are visible to anyone and are kept for ever, because the versions are how a mistake is undone. Do not put anything private, or anyone's personal details, in a song or a book. If you find personal details in one, contact admin@ukejam.online for removal.

What the site keeps about you today

The site does not use cookies. Appearance and reading preferences are kept in your own browser's storage and never sent to the server.

The server keeps ordinary access logs: your network address, the page asked for, the time and the browser's description of itself. They are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and for nothing else, on the basis of the site's legitimate interest in staying up. They are kept for 7 days and then deleted. The site's own statistics are aggregate counts and never identify a person.

Signing in

Sign-in is coming, through Google, Microsoft, or Facebook. The site never sees or stores a password. When you sign in, the site receives from that service your name, your email address, and the identifier it uses for your account. The site keeps them so that it can show who saved what, protect the songs and books a group owns and contact you about your account. That is the service you asked for by signing in, and the data is used for nothing else: no marketing, no advertising, no profiling, no automated decisions. Each sign-in service has its own privacy policy for what it does on its side.

Your name stays attached to the versions you saved. Your account page will let you download everything the site holds about you, remove a sign-in service, or delete your account. Deleting it removes your name, email address and sign-in details at once; the versions remain, attributed to a deleted account and to nobody.

Who else sees your data

The site runs on servers provided by Render Services Inc in USA, which stores the data on the site's behalf and does not use it. Nobody else receives it, unless the law requires it. Their privacy policy is available at https://render.com/privacy.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data the site holds about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, or have it sent to you in a portable form. Email the admin@ukejam.online; there is no charge, and you will hear back within a month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or, if you are elsewhere in Europe, to your own data protection authority.
